Get to know… Lee Cardy

At Zeon Golf, we’re proud to have a dedicated community of content creators. We are selective when deciding on our ambassadors, and are keen to work with individuals who share our vision for modern, well-fitting golf wear.

Over the coming months, we want to help you get to know our Zeon Golf ambassadors better. We have already met Par It Out Golf  so let’s meet our next ambassador, Lee Cardy

Lee, thank you so much for the time today. Let us start with a question that I’m sure we have all asked ourselves on a golf course, but what are your main reasons for playing golf?

I like the dangling carrot that golf offers. I’m always striving to reach the next level, then when I get there the goal post moves again. It’s a continuous quest that can least a lifetime!

Couldn’t have put it better myself! So being a PGA coach, if you could give one piece of advice to a newbie golfer, what would it be?

On the golf course, play golf and not golf swing. Work on your technique with a coach and at a practice facility, then trust what you have on the course on a given day. Don’t fall into the trap of bogging yourself down with technique when you are trying to score your best.

Excellent thanks Lee. As I mentioned, you are a PGA coach so I would imagine you have played some impressive courses. Of all the golf courses you have played, which one was your favourite and why?

The Old Course at St Andrews I first played it with my Dad on my 21st birthday and we both signed off with a birdie three on the famous 18th hole! It’s not only my favourite course, but one of my most memorable rounds.

It definitely is a course I’d like to play one day, although I’m certain I wouldn’t be coming off with a birdie on the 18th! So our final question, in 2022 you won the PGA Trainee of the year award. Now I’m going to assume this is one of your proudest achievements in golf to date, so what is your next ambition on the golf course?

My playing ambitions are geared towards being competitive in Regional and National PGA events. Success at that level can lead to starts on the DP World Tour. I’d also love to play the golf I know I’m capable of at Open Qualifying. It would be a thrill to be in contention to play for a spot into the best event in the world.

Lee, thank you again for your time today. I’m sure the Zeon Golf community reading this will have loved to learn more about you. For those who don’t already follow Lee, you can do so here  and if you are ever near The National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa, be sure to book yourself in with Lee here

Until next time, swing easy out there brothers.
